I was born on the Coromandel Peninsula but have lived in Hamilton almost all my life. I live with my husband and have three adult daughters and one delightful grand-daughter. We have a much-loved & fierce English Springer Spaniel that guards us and our home.

Prior to my retirement in 2019, I was a consultant dietitian in private practice. I have also previously worked as an advisor for the Health and Disability Commissioner. I have also worked as an independent contractor to the Dietitians Board of New Zealand. In this role, I was an advisor for continuing professional development for the dietetic profession. For much my working life I have been a media spokesperson for Dietitians NZ, which has involved interviews for radio, TV and print.

Working at Dress for Success allows me to use the knowledge and skills I have acquired over 40 years of clinical practice to help people prepare for employment. This involves helping with interview and workplace dressing for that all-important first interview, and for on-going employment. I very much look forward to using more of my skills to benefit my clients, no matter where they are on the job search path. Through Dress for Success, I can help develop a personalised plan with each client that will lead to a successful job search, application, and interview.

I am a New Zealander having lived most of my life in New Zealand after a short time doing my OE in my twenties after gaining my Bachelor’s degree. I met and married my husband in 1995 and we settled in Hamilton. We have two grown up children and have had our own business in the security field for nearly 20 years. I spent 18 years in customer service, management and training roles within the telecommunications industry where I also gained a qualification in adult teaching. I left and then worked in the public sector for the next five years. In 2019 I decided to retrain and completed my Post Graduate Diploma in Immigration Advice allowing me to become a Licensed Immigration Adviser, I currently am self-employed and assist in the management of our other two businesses. I also assist with CV writing and cover letters and interview coaching to my clients as they often do not understand the New Zealand approach to recruitment. My primary aim is to promote confidence in each person’s unique skill set and to enable each person to find their own pathway and to empower their journey.
